The Woods is Johannesburg's BRAND NEW paintball range located 10 minutes North of Fourways Mall. It offers a unique and exciting venue that is a must do, for all paintball enthusiast. Situated on Riversands Farm, participants are greeted by a picturesque dam sporting a large area of tall trees towering on its far side. This tranquil looking forest type setting, unsuspectingly is home to "The Woods" and makes for fantastic paintball  terrain.The abundance of trees and natural growth facilitates a non contrived paintball War Zone..... Let The Games Begin.   

The range consists of a number of courses designed to test all levels of paintball proficiency. They include heavily bunkered close quarter fields designed for intense fast paced play as well as genuine bush ball fields tailored to test stalking and bush craft skills.

"We arrived at the field at around 08:45 and carried our gear into the base area where we were greeted by a nice warm pinecone fire. It was incredible how this little fire warmed the whole place.

Everybody was gearing up and getting ready, buying paint, filling air and CO2. Our first game was in a field that had the nets pulled back to create a single area out of two fields. One side made of thatch bunkers and the other made of sand bags. The games we played in this field were one hour long massacres with paint coming from everywhere.

The other field was like something out of The Blair Witch Project. To give you an idea, for those of us who have driven through northern Natal, past all the plantations and only dreamt of letting lose on some poor opponent, well thats what we played in, "THE WOODS"

It is a huge field, and felt like we walked one thousand meters to get to the rear starting point. When the game started you knew that all hell was about five minuets away. I'm really not kidding around here, I've been playing for a long, long time and this is the biggest field I've ever balled in.

The games were awesome, with some of the combatants dropping like flies. As the field thinned out it became more and more tricky to get a target worth shooting."
