Experience the thrill of sliding through the forest on a Tarzan and Jane style adventure! Canopy Tours take people up into a previously inaccessible realm of nature whereby platforms built high within the upper level of indigenous forests or against the cliffs of ancient mountains are joined by spectacular ‘foefie’ type cable slides high above the forest floor.
Enjoy flying along the slides or spend a few minutes relaxing and absorbing the tranquillity of your natural surroundings while on each of the platforms. Trained canopy guides ensure the safety of each group while describing interesting facts about the fauna, flora and ecology of the surrounding environment.

The Magoebaskloof Canopy tour is made up of 11 slides and a swing bridge between 13 platforms which are built on the side of the cliff faces and between the trees in the indigenous forest.
The slides vary in length from 15m to 150m with heights above the spectacular river varying from 5m to 50m as you work your way down the Letaba River Gorge. 3 magnificent and unique waterfalls can only be truly appreciated from this vantage point. Not to mention the rare river capture phenomenon.
Each platform offers breathtaking views and with names like Judgement Day, Cliffhanger, Back to Nature, Soul Searcher and Butterfly Stairs, they each have their own story to tell.

Spot the Giant Kingfisher, Red-winged Starling and many other riverine forest birds. Animals include Veret and Samango monkeys in the yellowwood trees, baboons walking on the cliff ledges and if you are lucky, a shy bushbuck!
Spray from the waterfalls encourages moss, lichen and orchids to grow on wild rock fig and matume trees whose roots protrude and squeeze through the cracks in the rocks.
