Rap jumping was discovered by military soldiers as a way to descend a fixed rope while facing the ground. This way the soldier is able to fire a weapon if under attack from below.
In Australia abseiling is also known as rappelling and deepelling. Here in South Africa there are some natural and other man-made venues where you can enjoy rap jumping. Rap jumping is an extreme and somewhat daring version of abseiling.
Think how often people say, "Don't look down!" Well this is your chance to challenge that school of thought and say, "I'm looking down!"
